Ege University has been participating in the world's best-known ranking systems since 2020 and developing strategies to get better in the rankings. Below are some ranking systems in which Ege University participated and has been evaluated.
QS World University Rankings are held once a year. QS is one of the most recognized ranking systems in the world. QS evaluates universities under three headings: world rankings, field rankings, and regional rankings. QS evaluates and compares the most important features of universities. These main features are education, research, contribution to employment and international outlook.

While Ege University was in the range of 1201-1400 among nearly 1500 institutions in the QS 2023 World Ranking, it is ranked 9th among the top 10 universities in the national ranking. While our university is ranked first in Turkey in the field of "Agriculture and Livestock" and in the range of 201-250 in the world in the QS Field Rankings, it is the 4th in Turkey in the field of "Medicine" and the first in the world by proving its success in both fields, by staying in the range of 451-500. It is among 500 universities. Among Asian universities, Ege University is ranked 19th among 121 universities.
Times Higher Education Dünya Üniversiteler Sıralamaları yılda bir kez yapılır. THE sıralamaları da QS Sıralamaları gibi dünyanın en çok bilinen ve takip edilen sıralamalarındandır.
THE dünya üniversitelerini sıralamakla birlikte, alan ve tanınırlık sıralamaları da yapmaktadır. Ayrıca, Asya, Latin Amerika ve BRICS ülkeleri için 3 ayrı bölgesel sıralamayı, farklı puanlama yöntemleri ile yapmaktadır.
Ege Üniversitesi, THE 2022 Dünya Sıralama sonuçlarına göre dünyada 1201+ basamağında, ulusal sıralamada 12. sırada ve Asya üniversiteleri sıralamasında 19. sırada bulunmaktadır. Birleşmiş Milletler tarafından belirlenen “Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Hedefleri” doğrultusunda belirlenen kriterlerin yer aldığı THE IMPACT Alan Sıralamasına göre ise 2022 yılında 110 bölgeden bin 406 kurumun verilerinin değerlendirildiği sıralamada Ege Üniversitesi, puanını 60.2’den 63.6’ya yükselterek 601-800 aralığında yer aldı. Türkiye’deki üniversiteler arasında 17 alanın 14’ünde yer alan ilk 10 üniversite içerisinde giren Üniversitemiz, “Sağlıklı ve Kaliteli Yaşam”, “Sudaki Yaşam” ve “Karasal Yaşam” alanlarında devlet üniversiteleri arasında ikinci sıraya yerleşti.

Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU):
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), that is Shanghai Rankings, is another prestigious ranking and is held once a year. It has been published and copyrighted by Shanghai Ranking Consulting, an independent organization since 2009. Rankings are made in the form of general world ranking and field ranking.
While Ege University is among the first 1000 universities in the 2022 ARWU world rankings, it is among the first 6 universities in the national rankings. In the national evaluation, Ege University was among the top 5 universities according to the number of articles published in Nature and Science, and among the first 7 universities according to the evaluation of the institution's academic performance per capita and the number of articles indexed in the Science Citation Index-Expanded and Social Science Citation Index.
In the "Global Ranking of Academic Subjects in 2022" report published by the Academic Ranking of World University (ARWU), Ege University is among the top 200 in the world in the field of "Dentistry" and the first in Turkey.
Center for World University Rankings (CWUR):
Since 2012, CWUR has published the only academic ranking of global universities that evaluates education quality, employability, faculty quality, and research without relying on surveys and university data submissions.
In the "World's Best 2000 Universities 2022-2023 Ranking" prepared by CWUR, Ege University was in the top 4.6 percent of the 19,788 universities evaluated worldwide. Ranking 892 among world universities with a score of 70.9, the university ranked 7th among 56 state and foundation universities on a national basis and 255th in the Asian Region.
Round University Ranking (RUR):
Round University Ranking (RUR) is an international world university ranking system that measures the performance of 1100 leading world universities from 82 countries with 20 unique indicators and 4 key university activity areas (teaching, research, internationalization, financial sustainability).
According to the RUR 2022 World Ranking data, in which 1032 universities from around the world, including 30 from Turkey, were evaluated, Ege University was ranked 741st in the general world ranking. Ege University ranked 5th in terms of the number of doctoral students per academic staff and 9th in terms of the ratio of the number of doctoral programs to the number of undergraduate programs and found its place among the top 10 universities in the national ranking.
Ege University has increased its success in this field by being ranked 510th among 1032 institutions in the field of "Financial Sustainability". In terms of income per academic staff, it increased its place in the ranking by 109 places compared to the previous year and ranked 258th in the world. It rose 77 places in terms of research income and number of articles, ranking 437th. In the field of "teaching", it ranked 615th among world universities and tenth in the national ranking. While it ranked 796th among world universities in the field of "Research", it ranked 899th in the world rankings and 15th in the national rankings in the field of "Internationalization".
University Rankin by Academic Performance (URAP):
URAP, a non-profit institution that sees dealing with Turkey and world university rankings as a social service, operates within the Middle East Technical University Informatics Institute.
According to the 2021 "World General Ranking Report", Ege University ranked 883rd and found its place in the ranking made by 9 world ranking institutions. Accordingly, Ege University ranked 7th among the Turkish universities with the highest number of ranking institutions and ranked 4th among the universities in the A2 category in the Research University criteria.
According to URAP's "State of Turkish Universities in the World Science Field Rankings Report in 2021", Ege University took place in all 8 ranking institutions and ranked 8th among state universities with the number of 54 science fields. University Assesments & Research Center (UNİAR):
UniAr is an independent research laboratory that aims to contribute to the development of the Turkish Higher Education System by conducting research in the field of university and higher education in Turkey.
In the latest studies of UniAr, Ege University ranked 4th with 500 points in the "General Satisfaction Ranking of State Universities". Ege was ranked 3rd in the "Satisfaction Ranking with the Management and Operation of the Institution" and "Campus and Satisfaction of Life" categories and rose to the A plus level.

Scimago Institutiıns Rankings (SCIMAGO):
The SCImago Institutions Ranking (SIR) is a classification of academic and research-related institutions ranked by a composite indicator that combines three different sets of indicators based on research performance, innovation output, and societal impact as measured by web visibility.
According to the latest SCImago rankings, Ege University was ranked 6th among 132 universities in the national ranking. Ranking 45th out of 494 universities in the Middle East countries, the university ranked 639th out of 8,084 institutions in the world rankings. In the field of Dentistry, it was 3rd nationally, 158th among OECD countries, and 200th in the world.
It is an online platform by the Center for Science and Technology Studies at Leiden University in the Netherlands, providing important information on the scientific performance of more than 1300 major universities worldwide.
In the Leiden 2022 World University Rankings, Ege University achieved the 610th place among 1318 universities evaluated and entered the top 50 percentile. It entered the top 5 universities among 32 universities in the national ranking. Ege also ranked first among 26 universities in Turkey in the category of scientific impact in the field of "Life and Earth Sciences". In the evaluation, it was announced that Ege University is the third university in our country with the highest number of female article writers.
Webometrics Ranking of World Universities (WEBOMETRİCS) :
It is an initiative of Spain-based Cybermetrics Lab. Setting out with the idea that taking place in world rankings is through the open access of the web world, Webometrics examines academic profiles through the Google Scholar Citations database. The organization evaluates the open access resources of universities; analyzes independent, objective, free and open scientific data every six months to provide reliable, multidimensional, up-to-date and useful information. Promoting open access to university-generated information, Webometrics argues that the best strategy for improving rankings is to increase the quantity and quality of web content.
Ege University ranked 7th among 212 higher education institutions from Turkey in the "Best Universities Ranking by Citations in Google Academic Profiles" made by Webometrics in 2022. In 2022, Ege University ranked 1,66th among 31,521 world universities, 45th among 1,353 institutions in the Central Asian region, and 7th in the national ranking. In Webometrics 2022, "Google Scholar Profiles" were determined by accessing the open sources of the most cited researchers via their corporate e-mail addresses. According to the open-source evaluation, EU ranked 32nd among the countries in the region, 681st in the world and 7th in the national evaluation.
